Horse festival

The Winter Horse Festival has been organized since 2015. Horse trainers, horse herders and over 2000 thousand horses gather for this festival.

This festival’s aim is not only contributing to winter tourism in Mongolia, but also preserve the ancient nomadic heritage of herding winter horses and show the talents and abilities of horse riders and promote the livelihood and economic capacity of locals and nomads.

Winter Horse Festival Program includes:

-       Introduction of famous racing horse

-       Parade of unique and rare horses

-       Horse racing competition (short range)

-       Singing competition about horses

-       Selection of the best mare in Khentii aimag

-       Competition of catching horse with a lasso pole

-       Taming an unbroken horse performance & competition

-       Exhibition of horse equipment

-       Exhibition of works by Batnorov, Dariganga and Sevrei

-       Competition among hunter dogs

-       Horse spirit photo contest and exhibition

-       A parade of Mongolian children will be held

-       Traditional Concert for the festival guests
