In April, it feels like springtime for most of the country, as the chill of winter leaves and temperatures are warming up.  The average temperature in April ranges between -2°C to +19°C daytime and -8°C to +15°C at night.

WHERE TO GO IN APRIL IN MONGOLIA?

Central Mongolia
Because of its proximity to Ulaanbaatar, Central Mongolia is ready to be explored all year round.  You can visit the semi–Gobi Desert and Karakorum village in Central Mongolia. But remember that all tourist Ger camps are closed and the only choice is a local hotel, guest house, or nomad family homestay.

Southern Mongolia (Gobi Desert)
Sandstorms can occur in the frontier regions of the Gobi Desert. It’s a not wise choice to visit the Gobi Desert this month.

Northern & Western Mongolia
It’s not recommended to travel to Northern and Western Mongolia in April.  Cold weather in northern Mongolia lasts a bit longer than the Southern Mongolia or the Gobi Desert region.

WHAT TO WEAR IN APRIL IN MONGOLIA?

Pack your warm spring clothes on your trip to Mongolia.  Wear layers of clothes that can be added or discarded with temperature fluctuations. long-sleeved t-shirts, jeans, warm trousers, cotton or cashmere pullovers, and thin jacket are good choices.
